The Big Handicap Reset is coming
All handicaps will be reset on the 1st October ready for Fridays Individual game on the 2nd October.
New Features on the Website – Register and Handicap Search
Register
As you are aware, the main office requires us to notify them who is playing in the Dawn Patrol each day. We are testing an electronic register, which is now a menu option on the Dawn Patrol website.
Normally, Arthur or Alex will complete the register and email it to the office. If neither is there on a particular day, please nominate someone else to take on the task.
- Select Register on the main menu of the Dawn Patrol website and wait for it to generate an up-to-date list of all registered Dawn Patrol players.
- Scroll through the list and tap a player’s name to mark them as present; the tick box will be selected. A running total of players for that day appears at the top.
- Below the green Submit button, there is a field for adding anyone who is not registered with the Dawn Patrol. Enter their name, then press Add.
- Once everyone has arrived and been marked as present, press the green Submit Register & Email Admin.
- Press OK. An email listing everyone who is playing will be sent automatically to James.
- This must be done as soon as possible after or during the draw.
Note: If you are taking the register, keep the page open until you send the email. Closing the register page will clear all selected tick boxes.
Handicap Search
Another new feature you may have noticed is Handicap Search.
- Select Handicap Search from the main menu on the Dawn Patrol website. Wait for a message confirming that nn players were loaded as of a specified date. This date shows when the handicaps were last synchronised with IG.
- Enter your name or Bingo ball number to display your current Handicap Index, your Dawn Patrol handicap from the yellow tees, and your handicap from the white tees. You only need to enter the Bingo ball number, not its colour.
- Use Backspace to clear the search, then enter another name or number to check the handicaps of other players in your group.

The sign-up sheet has been removed from the Dawn Patrol Notice Board; please let Alex or Kevin know if you are entering and pay your £5 entry to Kevin Wilford. Payment is required by Friday the 2nd of October.

A bumper turnout today saw 24 players compete for a £48 kitty on a spectacular late-summer day, with clear, calm conditions and not a breath of wind.

Wednesday 23rd September 2026
One of the largest Dawn Patrol roll-ups to date saw 27 players form nine three-ball groups, all competing for the £54 kitty on another spectacular late-summer day, with clear, calm conditions and not a breath of wind.
Winning with a score of 72 Guy Turner, Ken Mitchell and Tom Yeatman. (£12 each)
In second place with a score of 69 (on a tripple count-back with a back 9 of 29) Darren Buss, Kevin Wilford and Rod Bird. (£6 each)

When 20 or more players take part, both first and second prizes will be awarded: two-thirds to the winning team and one-third to the runners-up. The winners each receive a 1 shot deduction while the runners-up each receive a 0.5 reduction.
Friday 25th September 2026
Following Wednesday’s bumper turnout, today’s field was comparatively small, with 12 players competing for a £24 kitty.
Overall winner: Phil Smith (35) – £12. After a long wait, Phil has secured his first outright individual win. Well played, Phil!
Front 9 winner: Ken Mitchell (18) – £6.
Back 9 winner: Alex Annal (17) – £6.
